

Roosevelt “Roe” Lenoir Jr., 53, of Fairview Heights, IL, born on January 16, 1970 in Chicago, IL to the union of Roosevelt Lenoir, Sr. and Nancy Ruth (nee Hunt) Lenoir, went to his eternal home on Sunday, December 17, 2023.
Roosevelt was an Information Technology (IT) professional with over 21 years’ experience at Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Global Field Command. As the team lead of a future operations cell within the Operations Division, Mr. Lenoir oversaw the strategic planning and preparation of actions in support of the operation, maintenance, security, and defense of the Department of Defense Information Network. His other roles within DISA Global included acting Branch Chief, NetOps Integrator, supervisory Battle Captain, and Watch Officer.
Prior to joining the DISA Global team, Roe served in the U.S. Army as a Technical Controller from July 1988 to June 1991. Upon the end of his enlistment, he took a position as a DOD contractor where he enjoyed seven years in Germany before taking a contractor position at Scott Air Force Base in July 1998. It was in Bremerhaven, Germany that he met the love of his life Petra and they were married on April 5, 1990 in Denmark. He joined DISA Global as a government civilian in February 2002 and was recognized for his exceptional work by receiving Outstanding Supervisor of the Year and three separate Civilian of the Quarter Awards.
In 2008, Roosevelt earned a bachelor’s degree in Computer and Information Systems Security from Park University, and in 2013 earned a master’s degree in Information Technology from Webster University. His other training and certifications include Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundation, Enterprise Networking, ATM Networking, Cisco Network Specialist Program, and Cisco Certified Network Associate.
Roe was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, and cooking outdoors. He was an extremely intelligent man, always engineering and repairing things around the house. He was also an incredibly gregarious and loving man who treasured spending time with his family and close friends. Roosevelt was a devoted husband, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend who will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roosevelt Lenoir Sr. and Nancy Ruth (nee Hunt) Lenoir; his Aunts Sereda (James) Lindsay, Yvonne Hunt, and Melody (Robert) Goodall, his brothers Phillip Hunt, Garland Paul Hunt, Sherwin Tyrone Hunt, and his sister-in-law, Angelique Lenoir.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 33 years, Petra (nee Clausen) Lenoir; brothers, Carlton W. (Tishanna) Lenoir Sr., Jake Lenoir, Samuel (Arian) Lenoir, and Walter (Cherilyn) Breckenridge; sister, Demetris (Samuel) Coleman; nieces and nephews, Shymiah (Jarret) Douglas, Jayla Stark, Kennedy Nancy Lenoir, Carlton W. Lenoir Jr., and Melody Ann Lenoir; dear cousins, Autumn and Geraldine Evans; parents-in-law, Johann and Gerda Clausen; sister-in-law, Angela (Mike) Clausen and their son, Hannes Clausen.
Visitation will take place on Friday, December 22, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Lake View Funeral Home, Fairview Heights, IL. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 23, 2023 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, IL.
