Roy Michael Kearns

Mike was born September 22, 1947 in East St Louis, Illinois to Roy and Merle Kearns. He proudly served his country in the Vietnam War. After his military service, he worked in the finance industry for many years, where he was known for his hard work, loyalty, and quiet strength.

Mike loved showing dogs in dog shows with his wife, Geri. They did this for years and owned too many dogs to count. In his later years he moved to the coast of Georgia and started his own inspection business. He moved back to O'Fallon, Missouri in 2022 to be close to his daughter and grandsons.

Mike was a devoted father to his only child, Karla, who meant the world to him. Nothing brought him more joy in his later years than being "Papa" to his three grandsons. He beamed at their accomplishments, laughed at their antics, and formed a bond with each of them that ran deep.

He will be remembered for his dry wit, generous heart, and deep love for his family and country. His presence, wisdom, and calm guidance will be missed more than words can say.

Mike was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Geri, his parents Roy and Merle Kearns, his mother and father in law Samuel and Geraldine Jenkins, His brother in laws Blaise Sarkesian and Nelson Jenkins.

He is survived by his daughter, Karla (Mike), three loving grandsons Austin, Tyson and Sam, sister's Pat Sarkesian and Corea Buck, nephews Robbie and James Buck and niece Molly White and many other family and friends who will miss him dearly.

A visitation for Roy will be held Saturday, April 19, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Lake View Funeral Home, 5000 North Illinois Street, Fairview Heights, IL 62208. A funeral service will take place at 1:00 PM. following the visitation. A committal service will occur Saturday, April 19, 2025 from 1:45 PM to 2:00 PM at Lake View Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, 5000 N Illinois St, Fairview Heights, IL 62208.
