Ruth A Lloyd

Ruth was a member of Hope Church, in Belleville, Illinois. She was a former member of the VFW Axillary, Post 1739. She was also an avid reader and enjoyed quilting and embroidery. Over the years, she was a member of many card clubs and especially enjoyed playing canasta and pinochle. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister, who will truly be missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Darwin B. Lloyd; daughter, Elizabeth LaPointe; her parents, John and Marie, nee Classen, Rodenmeyer; and her siblings, Helen (Harold) Schrauth, Bernice (Jack) Vickers, Jack (Arline) Rodenmeyer, and Eleanor (Clifford) Hartwell; and brothers-in-law, Mike Meinkoth and Donald Hillesheim.

Surviving to cherish her memory are her children, Peggy (Tim) Buchanan, of Swansea, Illinois and John (Sarah) Lloyd, of Columbia, Illinois; her grandchildren, Eric LaPointe, Amy (Brendan) Friedman, Andrew (Victoria) Buchanan, Bradley (Kaiti) Buchanan, Anna (Josh) Bennett, and Sam (Jazmine Clark) Lloyd; great grandchildren, Emma, Luke, Fynnigan, and Everett; sisters, Dorothy Meinkoth, of O’Fallon, Illinois and Melba Hillesheim, of Swansea, Illinois; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Visitation: Friends may call from 3 to 6:30 p.m., Monday, September 18, 2017 at Lake View Funeral Home, Fairview Heights, Illinois.

Funeral: Services will be held at 6:30 p.m., Monday, September 18, 2017 at the funeral home with Pastor Rich Bersett officiating. Interment will be held privately in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Illinois.
