Sharon A. Hayes Mattern

Mrs. Mattern loved fishing, needle point, and playing cards with friends. She was a member of the Elks Lodge #664, Ladies Auxiliary, and was also a parishioner at St. Teresa’s Catholic Church in Belleville, Illinois.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Dorothy, nee Jokisch, Hayes; stepfather Elmer Meikamp; a daughter, Tina Grueter; and a sister, Gloria Wagner.

Surviving are her loving husband of 46 years, Keith Mattern, of Belleville, Illinois; her daughter, Kimberly (David) Schaefer, of Sugar Grove, Illinois; her four grandchildren, Ashley, Marina, Julia, and Emma; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral: A mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, November 29, 2011, at St. Teresa’s Catholic Church, Belleville, Illinois. Interment will follow at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Illinois.
