Sylvia Marie (Klamerus) Marr

Sylvia graduated from St. Teresa’s Academy in l956. She retired from the Department of Defense as an administrative secretary in 2000 after 35 yrs. Sylvia was a longtime parishioner of Mother of Perpetual Help Church. She was active in the St. Anne's Altar Society , Adoration Chapel, and attended daily Mass. Sylvia helped committees for Pro-Life, funeral meals, and their annual Christmas cookie sale. She was a member of the Polish American Ladies Society and Red Hattitudes, and looked forward to luncheons with her St. Teresa’s Class of 1956 classmates and former federal co-workers. Sylvia’s dream was fulfilled when she went to Italy and attended a Mass at the Vatican offered by the Pope. She will be fondly remembered as a fabulous cook and baker of many kinds of Christmas cookies. Sylvia’s lifelong passion was shopping. She was a generous, thoughtful, quiet and caring woman. Sylvia very much loved spending time with her family and will be dearly missed.

Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents, Bruno Klamerus and Caroline Klamerus (nee Skrzyzowski); and brother, Joseph Klamerus.

Sylvia is survived by her husband, Ronald Marr; whom she married August 7, l970 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church: her sister, Carol (the late Nelson) Jenkins; her nieces, Lisa (Jerry) Ornellas and Michelle (Chip) Unterberg; her nephew, Tim (Christa) Jenkins; great nieces, Megan and Danna; great nephews, Adam, Andrew, and Alec; dear friend to Julie Llamas and many cousins and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Mother of Perpetual Help Church, 200 N Lange Ave, Maryville, IL 62062.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 23, 2018 at Lake View Funeral Home, 5000 N. Illinois St, Fairview Heights, IL 62208.

Funeral: Mass of Christian Burial will at celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 24, 2018 at Mother of Perpetual Help Church, 200 N. Lange Ave, Maryville, IL. 62062, with Father Joseph Havrilka officiating. Burial will be at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, IL
