

Mr. Reeves proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. He retired after 35 years of service with Granite City Steel as a machinist. He was a life member of the VFW and also a member of Calvary Pentecostal Church in O’Fallon, Illinois. Virgil could fix anything and loved woodworking. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, who will truly be missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Roy E. and Hazel, nee Toney, Reeves; two grandchildren, Dennis and Greg Reeves; and a sister, Ruth Burkett.
Surviving are his loving wife of 64 years, Betty L. Reeves, nee Curtis; his children, Virgil Ray (Peggy) Reeves, Carol S. (Charles) Cardarelli, Gary D. (Echo) Reeves, and Catherine D. Pullum; four grandchildren, Alan Reeves, Ginger (Terry) Jones, Jacinda Pullum, and Clayton (Shanysa) Cardarelli; four great grandchildren, Mark, Mason, Jada, and Lucas; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral: Services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, April 17, 2014, at the funeral home, with Pastor Chad Townsley officiating. Interment will follow in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Illinois.
