

Catherine Constance Pajunas, beloved sister, loving and supportive aunt and friend, died peacefully January 7, 2018. She was 94.
Born August 9, 1923 in Cleveland, Ohio, to Anna (Shimonis) and Peter Pajunas. Memories are treasured by nieces and nephews Pamela Buchwald, Cynthia Haynes, Peter Pajunas, Carol Bak, Edward Bak, Jaqueline Yost, and Catherine and William O’Neill and their families. Preceded in death by siblings Stella Garnand, Mary O’Neill, Eleanor Bak, Peter Pajunas and nephew, Paul Garnand.
“Kate” graduated from John Hay High School, worked in Chicago for Darcy Advertising and later in Cleveland as an executive secretary for Warner & Swasey (later Bendix) Corporation, where she was known for her sharp intellect, integrity and organizational efficiency.
An outstanding conversationalist, Catherine enjoyed talking about world events, politics, and the arts. Proud of her Lithuanian heritage, she was instrumental in establishing extended family in the U.S. following the dissolution of the Soviet Union.
Calling hours will be 4-6 pm Sunday, January 14 at the Corrigan Cracium Funeral Home, 20820 Lorain Rd., Fairview Park. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, January 15 at 11:30 am at St. Angela Merici Catholic Church, also in Fairview Park. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Cleveland.
