Though I never was able to meet the elder Edward Manning of whom his son Edward Manning Jr talked now and then I felt like I knew him, and so wanted to someday meet along with Ed's other family members when we dated on and off for 6 years.  Oddly during the year of his death in December of 2010, not once did Ed tell me his father had died. I often asked How his Dad was feeling? We stopped dating in 2011, on December 13. I never knew until after the split. God rest Mr. Manning.

We are so sorry for the loss of such a great man.Ed always made us laugh,even when he became ill.Our sympathy goes out to all the family and if you need anything let us know.Love the Young Family

I have many fond memories of Ed with Shirley and the old court bailiff crowd "back in the day". I could always depend on Ed to have a smile and a joke for everyone. My thoughts are with Shirley and family.
