Dad,
It took me a little bit to write.  I have been so overwhelmed with sadness and grief. God is good and has been carrying me through.  We had our differences but you and I were in a good place.  I am so happy that both of us were free and we overcame the past.  I will never forget our morning phone calls. Most of the calls were wake up calls and always the same.  "Get up, you got to go to work," but other calls were much more emotional.  We had some good talks about my (and your feelings) of Garrett's and Mom's passing.  We both said we will never be the same.  I use to tell you that we couldn't talk about that in the morning because i would go to work all emotional. But the talks were good and your encouragement helped me.  i think of you often and you are in my prayers, along with Mom and Garrett.  I can't believe the tremendous loss I have endured in such a short time. From here, Heaven looks amazing with amazing people we love and miss.  We will meet again.  And what a reunion it will be for I will be greeted by you, mom and Garrett (and if the rest want to tag along that's cool too.)  Love you dad!

I will always cherish the wonderful childhood memories. Uncle Mario may you rest in peace.

Mario, I will miss our visits, your jokes, our long conversations about anything and everything, but most of all your smile. You were my "papa" too! I will always be your "crazy lady!" Love and deepest sympathy to the entire family.

You were a great man Uncle Mario!  I loved how you never grew too old for cartoons, a great memory of you I will always have.May you rest in peace! Till we meet again!

When he stopped driving I took him to a few CIAC meetings. Each time he showed me his worn-out copy of an article in an Italian newspaper about when my father died. It was very emotional for him to explain to me that my father had told him that after visiting his sisters in Coreno after 17 years away if he died he'd die happy. Well, most of us know he died happy. When I last saw Mr. DiVito in late July he told me he was ready to go to his wife. His work here was done and he missed her terribly. Now the old school guy that he was he would not relate it to me quite that way but I think I am correctly interpreting his feelings. He took the Corenese Club very seriously and was proud of his leadership role. The last of the CIAC founding fathers is gone, it is the end of an era.

He never tired of showing me the article about my father in the Italian paper. The CIAC meant a lot to him and he took it very seriously. However, the last time I saw him in late July he told me he was ready to meet back up with his wife. His time here was done and he missed her terribly. These old school guys would never express it like that but I think it was obvious.

Mary and I are so deeply Sorry or the loss of your Father,He was a great man I all ways loved sitting and talking to him. I also loved how he would ride his bike around the neighborhood or walk and stop and hoot the breeze with all his friends he will be sorrowfully missed.

I'm so sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. He truly was a kind and loving man!  I will miss seeing him, as will others, at the Lutheran Home.  God Bless your family during this time.
