Myriam Del Carmen Gonzalez de Cancel

MYRIAM DEL CARMEN GONZALEZ DE CANCEL, age 81, passed away on the morning of August 3, 2015. Myriam was born in Lares, Puerto Rico. She lived in New York, Illinois, Georgia, and most of her years in Ohio. She was a dedicated wife, mother, and follower of Christ, faithfully raising four daughters and a son. Myriam is survived by her five children: Helen Cancel, Vera Mahfouz, Cara Snodgrass, Vanessa Formby, and Abraham Cancel; Son-in-laws: David Mahfouz, Ronald Snodgrass, and Michael Formby; Daughter-in-law: Colleen Cancel; Eleven Grandchildren: Jason Weaver, Justin Ball, Jonathan Mahfouz, Sierra Snodgrass, Douglas Snodgrass, Alexia Formby, Brandon Formby, Sofia Cancel, Gloria Cancel, Maya Cancel, and Hannah Cancel; Great Grandchild: Dominic Ball. Myriam is also survived by her brothers Benito Gonzalez, Wilfredo Gonzalez; Sisters: Verania Cancel, Nilda Gonzalez, Ketty Gonzalez, and Ruth D Gonzalez. She was preceded in death by her husband Raphael Cancel.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Hispanic United Methodist Church in Cleveland, 1965 W 44th St, Cleveland, OH 44113 and / or Ames Family Hospice House, 30080 Hospice Way, Westlake, OH 44145.

Visitation, viewing and funeral service will be held at the First Hispanic United Methodist Church on Wednesday, August 5. Visitation and viewing will take place from 4:00pm to 5:30pm. Funeral service will begin at 5:30pm.
