I just heard about Steve. I'm sorry for your loss. 

You always see so much about a person's values when you watch the way he treats his family, including humans and animals.  From when our family first met this kind gentle man, we have always had such a high respect for him.  We were so blessed to know him in his surroundings with horses. It's so wonderful to see a kind man in this surrounding.  Barn work is hard & wonderful work. He had such a wonderful love for horses and they loved him thoroughly, which is an honored seal of approval from a horse. We thoroughly enjoyed knowing such a kind, thoughtful, generous & loving man. He couldn't have loved his family more.  What a blessing.

I went to school with Steve, and lived down the street, Sudbury in North Olmsted. He was a very kind hearted person, easy to like, a friend that  you easily called a best friend. So sorry to hear he passed, I  know it was an honor to have known him.

Steve and I were good friends throughout high school and then later we were room mates in his first home. We shared a lot of good times together and through it all he was always a solid and supportive friend.I will certainly miss him. My condolences to Nancy and the entire family in this time of sadness. Rest in peace Steve.

The second time I met Steve was when we went back to Cleveland for a visit.  One of the first places he took us to was the horse rescue that he was so proud of and he worked so hard for horses that were in some bad situations.  I will always remember him for his love of his family and the horse rescue.  

I consider Steve, as I got to meet and know him at the rescue barn, a dear friend.  I will never forget him.  He worked so hard for the animals and pulled me through a few tough situations during our years of working together, there.  I know these words will not adequately express the appreciation and level of closeness we had working together, but I will try.
Steve would come through with his wit and humor and make me laugh and get over myself - I thank the Lord for his friendship and want his family and friends to know he had amazing compassion for those horses, especially beloved Moon and Azkaban.  He took care of them all those years with a fierce pride so that Arlee and later Derrik had their very own horses to ride.  Steve was a very strong man, physically and mentally - I admired him for that and followed his lead in caring for the horses.  He taught me much about what the horses needed from me emotionally.  That says a lot about him right there.
Later, after I took up painting, I got to know Steve and Nancy even better because I took my paintings to Off the Wall Gallery for framing.  Steve and Nancy turned my beginner's pieces into works of art with their talent and expertise.  I am forever grateful for that.
I want Nancy, Arlee, Derrik, Liam, Steve's siblings, family and friends, all to know how very much my husband and I will miss his presence in this world.  My heartfelt condolences to you all.  Steve was a unique and quietly strong presence in this strange and mysteriously brash world and I will never forget him.  Rest in peace and glory, Steve.  With love, Beth Muellauer 


I went to school with Steve; we were in the same graduating class.  He was always a kind and fun-loving person in school.   It's sad that we lose touch with so many who brought joy to our lives.  My thought and prayers go out to his family and his friends.   Safe heavenly travels, my old friend.
