Arthur worked for many years as a pharmacist, starting his career in Somerset before continuing to practice in Maryland, retiring earlier this year.
He enjoyed sailing, woodworking, cooking with family as he was quite the gourmet chef, watching football and his granddaughter play basketball.
He is survived by his brother, Robert “Bob” Abrams and his wife Joyce of Mansfield, OH; his daughter, Kathleen McCarty of Newport, RI; his son, Patrick McCarty and his wife Caroline of Sharon, MA; his grandchildren, Lila McCarty, Patrick McCarty and Beatrice McCarty; his nephews, Stephen Abrams and his wife Jessica of Duxbury, MA and Mark Abrams and his wife Laura of Columbus, OH; along with a great niece and nephew, Ayla and Vince.
His Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2025 from 9:00 to 10:00 AM in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Cherry Place, 178 Winter Street, Fall River followed by a Funeral Service at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are invited. Burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River.
