Beverly lived a life rooted in family, sharp humor, and a spirited love of learning. She was born in Fall River, the beloved daughter of the late Joseph Sciacca and the late Josephine (Arruda) Sciacca.
A graduate of B. M. C. Durfee High School, Class of 1967, Beverly carried her intelligence and determination into a long and steady career in banking. She worked as a bank teller through the transition of Bank of New England to Fleet Bank and finally to Bank of America, retiring in 2007. Even in retirement, Beverly wasn’t one to sit still—she took on a few part-time jobs, enjoying the chance to stay busy and engaged.
Beverly was remarkably intelligent, and she took real joy in keeping her mind sharp. She watched Jeopardy religiously, loved trivia, and could happily spend time with Scrabble, Wordle, and any other word game that offered a good challenge. Just as memorable as her mind was her quick wit—Beverly’s zest for life and lively way of seeing the world will be deeply missed and long remembered. Above all else, Beverly’s family was her world, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter, Megan Branco and her husband Joseph of Barrington, RI, her son, Jason Amaral and his fiancée Naomi Ingersoll of Newport, RI, her grandchildren, Abigail Branco, Emily Branco, Halie Arpa, Ethan Ingersoll, Nathaniel Ingersoll and Aaron Ingersoll, her sister, Gail Wingate and her husband David of Fall River along with many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral service will be held Thursday, April 9, 2026, at 11:00 AM in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Cherry Place, 178 Winter Street, Fall River. Relatives and friends are invited. Visitation will be Thursday, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, prior to the service. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Beverly’s name can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
