Big Toon Wong

Big Toon Wong, “Wing”, age 86, a longtime resident of Westport, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 12, 2025 at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the husband of Judith (Machado) Wong, to whom he has been married for the past 61 years.

Born in Hong Kong, China, he was the son of the late Harry and Shun Ye (Ng) Wong. At age 14, Wing emigrated from China and settled in Cranston, RI.

He worked as a Chef for his family business, China City on Pleasant Street in Fall River for many years and for various area restaurants throughout his career. A hard worker, Wing enjoyed yard work and gardening.

Besides his wife, Wing is survived by two children, John Wong and his wife Marie of Fall River and Karen Wong and her fiancé Alan Reis of Dartmouth; three grandchildren, Marisa Moitoso, John Wong Jr., and Jason Wong as well as five great-grandchildren, Landon Moitoso, Jason Wong Jr., Peyton Moitoso, Benjamin Wong and Oliver Wong. He was the father of the late Kimberly Marie Wong and brother of the late Har Ng.

His Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at 9:00 AM from the Waring-Sullivan Home at Cherry Place, 178 Winter St., Fall River, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM in Our Lady of Grace Church, 569 Sanford Rd., Westport. Relatives and friends are invited. Visitation will be held Friday, May 16, 2025 from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM in the Funeral Home. Burial will be private.
