She is survived by her four children: Christopher Fallon (Susan), Jeffrey Fallon (Melissa), Keith Fallon (Angela), and Caitlin Fallon. She also leaves her sister, Nancy Teves; seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and one great-grandchild on the way; as well as many nieces and nephews. She is also remembered fondly for the joy she found in her two beloved dogs.
Clara was born on October 27, 1945, in Fall River, Massachusetts. A proud daughter of Portuguese-American heritage, she was raised in the South End neighborhood on Montaup and Aetna Streets. Her parents were born in the United States, but her grandparents emigrated from the Azores, and Clara carried their values of family, faith, and hard work with her throughout her life.
She attended B.M.C. Durfee High School, graduating with the Class of 1963. Even as a young woman, Clara was known for her intelligence, her compassion, and her ability to connect with others.
Clara pursued a career in nursing and became a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). She began working at Saint Anne’s Hospital, where her compassion and dedication made her a trusted caregiver to patients and a supportive colleague to her fellow nurses. She touched countless lives with her kindness and professionalism.
After years of service in healthcare, Clara retired from nursing but never retired from serving her community.
Following her nursing career, Clara embraced a second calling in public service. For more than a decade, she served as Chief Legislative Aide to State Representative Alan Silvia of the 7th Bristol District, working directly out of the district office in Fall River’s South End.
In this role, Clara became known as a tireless advocate for her community. Fluent in Portuguese, she helped countless families navigate resources and state services, breaking down barriers for immigrant and working-class residents. She was respected for her fairness, admired for her efficiency, and loved for her warmth. Many constituents considered her not just a resource, but a friend.
Clara’s commitment to community extended far beyond her work. She served as Vice President of the Fall River Garden Club, was a Board Member of the Friends of the Fall River Public Library, and was an active member of the Fall River Carousel Lions Club.
Through these organizations, Clara contributed to beautifying her city, supporting literacy and education, and advancing service projects that enriched Fall River.
Clara’s Catholic faith was central to her life. A devout parishioner of Good Shepherd Parish, she rarely missed Sunday Mass and found strength, hope, and joy in her church community.
She loved traveling, exploring new places, and creating memories with friends and family. Clara was known for her generosity, kindness, and her rare ability to listen without judgment. Her home was always welcoming, and her table always full. She often joked that even in her late seventies she was still mastering technology — running a busy office with computers, phones, and printers — but in truth, she embraced learning and never stopped growing.
Above all, Clara cherished her role as a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Family was the center of her world. She also adored her two dogs, who were her constant companions and a daily source of joy.
Clara’s life was a testament to faith, service, and love. She devoted herself to caring for others, whether as a nurse, a legislative aide, a community volunteer, or simply a neighbor and friend. Her warmth and resilience touched all who knew her, and her memory will continue to inspire her family and community.
Her funeral will be held Thursday, October 2, 2025, at 8:30 AM from the Waring-Sullivan Home at Cherry Place, 178 Winter Street, Fall River followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM at Good Shepherd Parish, 1598 South Main Street, Fall River. Relatives and friends are invited. Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 1, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Burial will be private
