Born in New York City, a son of the late Peter and Loretta (Ormston) Leary, he spent his youth in Fall River, lived in Boston for several years and Swansea for over 30 years, returning to Fall River in 2003.
An accountant, he worked for the Industrial Manufacturing Division of ITT Grinnell in Providence for over 30 years. He was a graduate of BMC Durfee High School, Class of 1947 and the former Thibodeau Business College, Class of 1949. Mr. Leary enjoyed oil painting, researching his Irish Heritage, Bakers Beach and was an avid Red Sox fan.
Surviving: son Nicholas P. Leary and his wife Susan of Plainfield, CT and his grandson William W. Leary. He was brother of the late Shirley Milanowski, David and Ann Marie Leary.
His funeral will be held Tuesday at 11:00 AM in the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE at Cherry Place, 178 Winter St., Fall River. His family will greet friends from 9:00 – 11:00 AM in the funeral home prior to his service. Burial private.
