Born in Fall River the daughter of the late Edward R. and Rose Ann (Levesque) Halpen she was raised in Tiverton, RI and a longtime resident of Fall River.
A graduate of BMC Durfee High School, Class of 1968 she worked as a manager in several establishments for the food industry, was the owner and operator of a local flower shop and was a committed foster parent to children for 20 years and for animals for 8 years.
An active member of Concerns of Police Survivors (COPS), she volunteered for Last Hope K9 Rescue and had dedicated the last 25 years of her life to the coordination of the annual Officer Thomas J. Giunta 5K Road Race.
She is survived by one daughter, Candice Giunta and her fiance Brandon Silva; two granddaughters Bailey and Lillian Giunta; one step-daughter, Tina (Giunta) Munro and her husband Gary of Fall River, two stepsons, Thomas J. Giunta, Jr. and his wife Michelle of Fall River and Officer Timothy M. Giunta, FRPD and his wife Katie of Assonet; two sisters, Pauline I. Lima and her husband Richard and Diane Salpietro and her husband Anthony and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Rosanna Welch, Edward N. Halpen and Edward R. Halpen.
Her visitation will be held Monday, February 15, 2021 from 3:00 – 6:00 pm in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Cherry Place, 178 Winter St. Fall River, MA. Her Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at 11:00 AM in St. Michael’s Church, 189 Essex St., Fall River. Relatives and friends invited.
