Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late Francesco and Antoinette (Pieroni) Toni. Edith was a proud graduate of the Dominican Academy. She dedicated 43 years of her life working as a sewing machine operator, first for the Pocasset Street Mill and later for the Korber Hat Company, retiring in 1993.
A devout communicant of the former Holy Rosary Church, Edith was actively involved in the Women’s Guild, where she contributed her time and talents to the church community. A creative soul, Edith had a deep passion for the arts, particularly ceramics, knitting, and crocheting. Her greatest joy, however, came from spending time with her family and friends. Above all, she cherished her role as grandmother to her beloved granddaughter, Aubrey.
Edith is survived by her son, Alan M. Levesque and his wife Palmina of Fall River; her granddaughter, Aubrey M. Levesque and her fiancé Dr. Jacob Kress of Fall River; her sister, Frances Hart of Somerset; nephews Kevin Toni and his wife Ellen of Barnstable, and Keith Toni of Westport; as well as her great nephew, Matthew Toni; great niece Mikaela Toni-Miller and her husband Ron; and great-great niece Alexandra Jane. She also leaves behind her sisters-in-law, Sr. Yvonne Levesque; and Irene Belanger and her husband Raymond; a nephew, Dr. Steven Belanger and his wife Nancy, and a niece Debra Levesque and her son Austin. She was the sister of the late Roger Toni. She was sister-in-law of the late Leonard Hart, Barbara Toni and Lionel Levesque.
Her funeral will be held Monday, September 15, 2025, at 9:00 AM from the Waring-Sullivan Home at Cherry Place, 178 Winter Street, Fall River followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM at St. Mary’s Cathedral, Spring Street, Fall River. Relatives and friends are invited. Visitation will be held Sunday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River. Flowers are welcome.
