

Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late Percy and Julia (Frazer) Barlow. A lifelong resident of the city, she was a graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School, class of 1948.
In addition to caring for her home and children, she was a talented dress maker and cake decorator. Mrs. Ward worked as a baker in the cafeteria at the Talbot Middle School for over twenty years, retiring in 1991.
She was member of the former Bogle Street Congregational Church and a dedicated member of the First Congregational Church where she served as a Deacon and was a Council Member. She was also a member of the Couples Club and the Bogle St. Church Women’s Club.
She and her husband traveled extensively throughout the world. She enjoyed hooking rugs, knitting, crocheting, and most of all spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by three children: Susan Lanyon and her husband Kendall of Assonet, Kenneth Ward and his wife Denise of Fall River, Jeffrey Ward and his wife Patricia of Swansea, one sister: Marilyn Bartsch of Milford, NH, seven grandchildren: Rebecca Soens and her husband Darren, Melissa Kearney and her husband Colin, Jared Lanyon and his wife Amy, Jennifer Rezendes and her husband Manuel, Michael Ward and his wife Alicia, Kathy Sanson and her husband Jeffrey, and Jameson Ward, nine great-grandchildren: Austin, Aleciana, Ellie, Jonathan, Jeremy, Will, Mason, Nila, Julia and many nieces and nephews. She was sister of the late Robert Barlow.
Her funeral will be held on Thursday, May 5, 2016 at 11:00AM in the First Congregational Church, 282 Rock St., Fall River. Visiting hours Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00PM in the Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Cherry Place, 178 Winter St., Fall River.
