

Born in Fall River, a son of the late Assad and Habooba (Sahady) Galib, he was a lifelong resident of the city.
A Veteran of the United States Army, he served during World War II as a Sergeant. Mr. Galib worked in the Textile Industry as a Weaver for Harodite Finishing in Dighton and Ansonia Mills in Taunton for many years before retiring in 1983.
A member of the Lebanese American Veterans, he enjoyed painting, ceramics, hooking rugs, and most of all spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by one son: James M. Galib and his wife Christine of Swansea, three daughters: Theresa Galib, Janis M. Galib, Karen T. Galib all of Fall River, one brother: Thomas Galib and his wife Rosalie of Somerset, one sister: Madeline Joseph of Fall River, three grandchildren: Kevin Flynn and his wife Kimberly, Rebecca L. Galib, Hayley N. Galib, one great-granddaughter: Tessa Flynn, and many nieces and nephews. He was brother of the late Emile Galib, Marion Galib, and Martha Abdallah.
His Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at 10:00AM in St. Anthony of the Desert Church, 300 North Eastern Ave., Fall River 02723. His family will receive friends at the church from 8:30 to 9:45AM prior to his Mass. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his honor may be made to St. Anthony of the Desert Church. Burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River. Arrangements are in the care of the Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Cherry Place, Fall River.
