Fern R. White

Born in Fall River, a daughter of the late Chester and Edith (Fitzpatrick) Goodwin, she was a lifelong resident of the city.

A graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School, she worked for Catholic Charities for over thirty years. A lifetime communicant of the former Sacred Heart Church, she belonged to the Sacred Heart Seniors, their Ladies Guild and Women’s Bowling League.

She was a member of the Fall River Historical Society and the Durfee Bells Association. Mrs. White enjoyed painting in her sparetime.

She is survived by two sons: David H. White of Venice, FL, Timothy H. White and his wife Anna of Bellaire, TX, one daughter: Nancy E. White of Fall River, three grandchildren: Lisa K. Ravanesi, Daniel C. White and Emily P. White, six great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Edith Grinnell, Mildred LaFleur, Elizabeth Smith, Chester and Charles Goodwin.

Her Funeral will be held on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at 9:00AM from the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE at CHERRY PLACE, 178 Winter St., Fall River, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00AM in Holy Name Church, 709 Hanover St., Fall River. Visiting hours Monday from 4:00 to 7:00PM. Burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River.
