Frank Elmer Brayton Jr.

Born in Fall River, the son of the late Frank E. and Ethel P. (Hart) Brayton, he was a lifelong resident of Westport.

Mr. Brayton was a United States Navy Veteran having served during World War II. He was the recipient of the World War II Victory Medal, American Theatre Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Theatre Medal-2 Stars, Philippine Liberation- 1 Star and the Good Conduct Medal.

Mr. Brayton was the owner of F.E. Brayton, Jr. Auto Sales and Service, Inc. in Westport, since 1938.

He was a Westport Fire Company volunteer and a member of the Westport V.F.W. W.A. & R Ouellette Post 8502, Westport Grange and the Old Stone Church in Tiverton.

Surviving in addition to his wife is a son, Christian F. Brayton and his wife Susan of Westport; a daughter Susan L. Kidd and her husband Robert W. Kidd of Ormond Beach, FL; three grandchildren, Melissa Sylvia, Robert Kidd, Jr. and Benjamin C. Brayton; two great-grandchildren, Christopher and Tyler Sylvia. He was the father of the late Dana J. Brayton.
