Born in Fall River, a daughter of the late John and Sarah (Holt) McMahon, she was a life-long resident of the city.
A graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School, Class of 1960, she attended Bristol Community College, taking classes in Education.
Grace worked as both a Teacher’s Aide and Clerk at the Spencer Borden School for over thirty years before retiring in 2007. Following her retirement, she continued to volunteer at the school for many years.
She enjoyed knitting, playing Scrabble, card games and especially loved to travel and spend time with her grandchildren.
A member of the Durfee Marching Band “Band-Aids”, she was also involved with coordinating Durfee Class of 1960 Alumni Events.
She is survived by two daughters, Cheryl Pacheco and her husband Paul of Berkley and Linda Cabral and her husband Fernando of Fall River; one sister, Mary Lou Cabral; five grandchildren, Devin and Victoria Pacheco, Jordan and Sydnie Cabral, Shaina Ferreira and her husband Craig and one great grandchild, Roslyn Lillie Ferreira; many nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Evelyn Santos and Susan Lagasse.
Her Funeral will be held on Friday, July 6, 2018 at 8:00 a.m. from the Waring-Sullivan Home at Cherry Place, 178 Winter St., Fall River, followed by her Funeral Mass at 9:00 a.m. in Holy Name Church, 709 Hanover St., Fall River. Visiting hours will be on Thursday 4:00 to 7:00p.m. Burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River.
