Jeannette L. "Jean" Chagnon

Jeannette L. (Hubert) Chagnon, “Jean,” age 88, of Fall River, passed away Monday, February 18, 2013 peacefully surrounded by her loving family in Charlton Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late Normand G. Chagnon.

Born in Fall River, a daughter of the late Daniel and Angelina (Cote) Hubert, she had been a lifelong resident of the city.

Mrs. Chagnon was a cloth inspector at Arkwright Finishing Company and a sorter at Smith Textile both in Fall River before retiring in 1987. She loved animals, shopping, and flowers especially poinsettia plants around Christmas time. She enjoyed donating to the missionaries and dining out at different restaurants with her family. Her best times spent were with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by one daughter; Diane M. Nadeau of Somerset, one son; Norman G. Chagnon Jr. and his wife Susan (Metras) Chagnon of Fall River, five grandchildren; Brian Nadeau and his wife Lori, Kara Orosco and her husband A.J., Derek Nadeau, Emily Chagnon, Evan Chagnon, three great-grandchildren; Ryleigh Nadeau, Braelyn Orosco, Jackson Orosco; three sisters; Yvonne Platt and Alice Guillemette both of Fall River, Rita Russell of Florida, and many nieces and nephews. She was the proud mother in law of the late District Fire Chief Gerald W. Nadeau and sister of the late Marie Ange St. Martin, Gerard, Edward, Lucien, Henry, Arthur, George, Eugene, and Roland Hubert.

Her Funeral will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at 8:00AM from the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE at CHERRY PLACE, 178 Winter St., Fall River followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:00AM in St. Bernadette’s Church, 529 Eastern Ave., Fall River.
