Kevin J. Burns

Kevin J. Burns, age 60, of Fall River passed away, Thursday, March 10, 2016 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Anna M. (Medeiros) Burns to whom he had been married for 41 years.

Born in Fall River, the son of the late John P. and Dorothy M. (Burke) Burns, he was a lifelong resident of the city. Mr. Burns was employed as a Custodian in the Fall River School Department for 29 years. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and cooking. An avid sports fan, Kevin enjoyed the Red Sox, Bruins, Celtics and his Cleveland Browns.

Kevin went into hospice care in December and was cared at home by his loving family. They received invaluable care during this difficult time from his hospice nurse Sherri and home health aide Brenda.

In addition to his wife of 41 years, Kevin is survived by a daughter, Megan Tabicas and her husband Michael of N. Dartmouth, a son, Jason Burns and his wife Liz of Fall River, a daughter, Shalyn Burns and her husband Cameron Pontes of Fall River; a daughter that was born in his heart Julie Santasieri of Fall River; eight grandchildren Taylor, Nathan, Madison, Riley, Samantha, Sophia, Abigail and Jake; a sister Kathleen Burns of Fall River; a brother Michael Burns and his wife Linda of Dolgeville, NY; his mother and father in-law Manuel and Angela Medeiros of Fall River and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be held on Monday, March 14, 2016 at 9am from the Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Cherry Place, 178 Winter St., Fall River followed by his Funeral Mass at 10am in Holy Name Church 709 Hanover St., Fall River.
