Born in Fall River, a daughter of the late John E. and Marguerite M. (Wilson) Martin, she was a lifelong area resident. She was a graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School and the Truesdale School of Nursing.
Mrs. Brown worked as a nurse for Earl Hussey Hospital in Alternative Care and also for the former Truesdale Hospital. She was a member of the Truesdale Alumni, the Sacred Heart Woman’s Guild, and the Irish Heritage Association. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and doing crossword puzzles.
She is survived by one daughter; Nancy H. Brown of Fall River, one son; Michael W. Brown of Somerset, one brother; John C. Martin, one sister; Linda Cote both of Fall River, two grandchildren; Amanda Brown and Corey Melo, and several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be held Wednesday, January 29 , 2014 at 11:00AM in the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE at CHERRY PLACE, 178 Winter St., Fall River. Visiting hours will be Wednesday from 10 to 11AM prior to her service. Burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River.
