Born in New Bedford, daughter of the late Joseph and Maria (Botelho) Oliveira, she was a longtime city resident and a communicant of Espirito Santo Church. Mrs. Couto was employed for many years as a stitcher at the former Shelburne Shirt Co.
Surviving one daughter Carol M. Silvia of Fall River, two grandsons: Michael J. and Jeffrey A. Silvia both of Fall River, three great grandsons Nathan, Dalton and Cody Silvia, one brother Arthur Oliveira of New Bedford and FLA. Sister of the late Joseph, John, Manuel and Elsie Oliveira and Dorothea Cabral, and mother in law of the late John J. Silvia.
Funeral Wed. Feb. 19, 2014 at 8AM from the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE AT CHERRY PLACE 178 Winter St. Fall River followed by a funeral mass at 9AM in Espirito Santo Church 311 Alden St. Fall River. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Visiting hours Tues. 5-8PM.
