Born in San Francisco, Mike was the son of the late William L. Boyd and Patricia (Hurd) Boutin. He was raised among his many siblings in Chocorua, New Hampshire before moving to Dover, New Hampshire, where he graduated from Dover High School in 1973.
Mike served in the United States Marine Corps from 1974 to 1980, specializing in avionics and later built a career as a computer analyst with Sperry/Lockheed Martin.
Mike enjoyed storytelling, singing the blues and taking care of the many women in his family. He was incredibly smart, handy and generous, never hesitating to help those in need. He was the go-to guy for any car trouble and could fix any tech problem. He was a big kid at heart and always loved playing and laughing with his children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and the neighborhood kids. He found joy in camping, kayaking, walks in the woods and enjoyed many years of Sunday night suppers with the ladies. Mike held a quiet and watchful presence over the people that he loved. May we rest easy knowing Mike is still out there, keeping an eye on us.
He is survived by his loving wife, Louise, and his daughters: Brandy Bettencourt; Valerie Perry; Cindy Boyd; Katie Ainslie and her husband Bob of Whitman, MA; and Allie Boyd and her partner Chris Wessling of Braintree, MA. He also leaves eight siblings: Diana Devine of Atkinson, NH; Kathy Avery of Wolfeboro, NH; Bruce Boutin of North Conway, NH; Teresa Lamparter and her husband David of Sedona, AZ; Raymond Boutin and his wife Robin of W. Ossipee, NH; Daniel Boutin of VA; Linda Jenkins and her husband Ken of N. Berwick, ME; and Debra Schloth and her husband Eric of North Conway, NH. He will be deeply missed by his seven grandchildren — Devon, Kendall, Jerah, Angell, Faith, Marley, and Lily — as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends who loved him dearly.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, November 24, 2025, at 12:30 PM at Bittersweet Farm Restaurant, 438 Main Rd., Westport, MA. Relatives and friends are warmly invited to attend. Burial will be private.
