Michael L. Shaker

Born in Fall River, a son of the late Joseph and Afeefy (Joseph) Shaker, he lived in Tiverton, RI for over 40 years, lived in Florida for several years, returning to this area in 2000.

Mr. Shaker was owner and operator of the former Shaker ‘s Restaurant (Bluebird). He served in the United States Navy, was a member of the Lebanese American Club, the Veterans Club of Tiverton and the Knights of Columbus. Mr. Shaker enjoyed being a lobsterman and fishing; loved to golf, swim and travel, was a champion arm wrestler and will be remembered for being the Shellfish Warden in Tiverton.

Surviving: two daughters: Nadene Kaegael and her husband Ted of Middleboro and Lori Shaker and her companion Geno Silvia of Fall River, a son: Joseph J. Shaker of Fall River, a sister: Alice Hassoun of Fall River a brother: Shaker J. “Jake” Shaker of Fall River, two grandchildren: Jessica Smith and her husband Raymond, Josef Shaker and his fiancé Corinne of Fall River, three great granddaughters: Kyrah, Skylah and Alicia and several nieces and nephews.

His Memorial Mass with be held Thursday, November 15, 2012 at 10AM in St. Anthony of the Desert Church, 300 N. Eastern Avenue, Fall River. Contributions in his honor may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905. Burial private. Arrangements in the care of Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute, Fall River.
