Raymond Robitaille

Raymond Robitaille, age 86, of Somerset, passed away on Thursday, January 14, 2016 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was husband of the late Carol L. (Marum) Robitaille and the late Florence (Smygelski) Robitaille.

Born in New Bedford, son of the late Hector and Claudia (Dextraze) Robitaille, he grew up in New Bedford and raised his family in Fall River before moving to Somerset ten years ago.

A Veteran of the United States Coast Guard, he worked for the Fall River Light Company for over thirty years. Mr. Robitaille was an avid golfer.

He is survived by four sons: Stephen Robitaille and his wife Lisa of Berkley, David Robitaille and his wife Kyle of Fall River, James Robitaille of Fall River, Paul Robitaille and his wife Darlene of Somerset; two brothers: Hector Robitaille and his wife Patricia of Eastham, twin brother Paul Robitaille of Fishkill, NY; six grandchildren: Shaina, Ryan, Jason, Adam, Brett and Nicole, one great-grandson: Sawyer, two step-grandchildren: Chris and Kelly, and many nieces and nephews. He was brother of the late Louis, Wilfred, and Leo Robitaille and Beatrice Sirois.

His Funeral will be held on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at 11:00AM in St. Joseph’s Church, 1335 North Main St., Fall River. Relatives and friends invited. Contributions in his honor may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA 02472. Burial at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River.
