A graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School, Steven then received an Associate Degree from Fisher College. A Proud Veteran of the United States Army. Throughout his life Steven worked as a tractor trailer truck driver, a machinist, and delivered newspapers for the Providence Journal. Steven enjoyed many hobbies including fishing on his boat (as long as he was catching something) and going to the casino. He also liked to learn how things worked and learned by doing; he spent time working on his car and fixing up the house. He loved all animals and certainly enjoyed his ice cream!
He was quick-witted, funny and liked to laugh. He valued time with family and friends. Loved ones describe him as kind, selfless, and a humble man who said it like it was and didn't take things too seriously. He was an amazing father who showed unconditional love.
Loving dad, papa, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be remembered for all the heart he shared with friends and family. He truly loved each of them- and if you knew him, you knew it. He was the kind of person that you wanted at your dinner table.
He is survived by two daughters Robin Lee Moore and Shannon Alicia Machado and her fiancé Joshua Thibeault; one brother, Edward Stefanik; one sister, Elizabeth "Betty" Stefanik; one granddaughter, Maya Moore; one niece, Stacey Olsen; one nephew, David Stefanik; two great-nieces, Taylor and Haleigh Olsen; two great nephews, Jonathan and Nicholas Stefanik.
His Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2024 from 8:15 to 9:15 AM in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Cherry Place, 178 Winter St. Fall River, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Stanislaus Church, 36 Rockland St., Fall River. Relatives and friends are invited. Burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River.
