Troy Pimental passed on to calmer waters (or at least somewhere with fewer regulations and better fuel prices) due to complications of liver failure after living life exactly the way he wanted — wide open and unapologetic.
Troy was the life partner of Linda Hunt of Seabrook, NH; beloved son of Fran Pimental of Fall River, MA and the late Anthony Pimental; a proud loving father to Matt Maltais of Somerset, MA, Kaylee Pavao of Somerset, MA, Kendra Robertson of Fall River,MA , Sheila Hunt of Middleboro,MA , Denise Hunt and partner Anabelle Hunt of Hampton,NH . He was a cherished grandfather to Juliano Andrade of Middleboro,MA , Theodore Maltais , Linkin Pavao and Talia Pavao of Somerset,MA.
A commercial fisherman by trade and a diesel mechanic by necessity, Troy fished out of Puerto Rico during his long-lining days and later out of New Bedford, MA ground fishing. If it had an engine, a fuel problem, or a questionable noise, Troy could fix it — or at least make it louder. He believed tools were meant to be used hard, engines should never idle too long, and sleep was optional.
Outside of work, Troy loved Harley’s, dirt bikes, and anything that involved speed, noise, and some danger. If anybody knew Troy, they knew he lived his life full throttle. No coasting, No half-sending, Ever.
Whether he was ripping dirt bikes with his grandson Juliano, wrenching on something that “just needed one more thing,” or spending quiet time with his cats (who were probably the only ones who could tell him when to calm down), Troy lived fully and loudly — and exactly on his own terms.
He will be missed dearly by friends, family… and yes, even a few enemies — because if you lived boldly enough, you were bound to collect all three.
In true Troy fashion, there will be no slowing down in our memories of him — just laughter, stories, revved engines, and a reminder to live life the way he did: hard, honest, and wide open.
There will be a celebration of life at a later date the family will provide the details once known.
