I am saddened at the loss of such a wonderful leader, mentor and friend. It was due to her guiding hand that led me in the career and education choices of today. She fostered a renewed lifelong love of learning that I continue to share with others, and pass along to my daughter. I always hear her voice and words of love and wisdom today. She will me missed. I loved her dearly. Her life was remarkable and it was a gift and blessing to know her.

I had the great honor of taking classes of Dr. heatherley's and I truly loved her dearly.  She taught me so much about reading...she once told me that it's all about helping your students develop a love of reading...not about learning the sounds of letters.  She certainly helped me develop a love of reading.  We stayed in contact through emails until a year or so ago. She was a dear lady and I'm saddened with learning of her passing away. She will truly be missed by many friends, family and students. My prayers are with her family.

Anna will always be remembered as the unique person she was and still is--I'm sure.  

Anna and her sister,Julia, attended a seniors' water aerobics class that I teach in Reston for the Reston Association.  They came for many years, and everyone enjoyed their easy rapport.  I saw a picture of Anna and Julia when they were children.  Even then it was evident how both of them would approach life with fun and reverence when they became adults.

My husband and I didn't realize Anna's education credentials. They are amazing!

We miss her wonderful hugs every time we saw her--what a sweet lady.  Jim and I are so grateful to have known her.  Now she belongs to God's Eternity.  I'm not going to say "May she rest in peace."  She will be active in some way forever.

My Condolences to Dr. Heatherly's family. I had the priviledge of having her as one of my instructors at UALR. She was excellent and inspiring and very passionate about Reading. Her instruction and leadership did so much for Reading Programs in the State of Arkansas and elsewhere. I know she will long be remembered and greatly missed by those who knew her.

My deepest condolences in honor of Anna. It was my honor to be able to call her my friend, but she always felt like family by heart.  My heart has been blessed by having her within my life.  She was truly a special lady that I will miss.  With much love and prayers.

I have known Anna for several years at Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church. She always had the most wonderful smile on her face, and a wonderful, positive outlook on life. She was full of joy!   Even through pain, she had such a positive attitude.  I will miss her.
