Bernard G Thompson

Bernard G. “Ben” Thompson, of Falls Church, VA passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at the age of 60 at Georgetown University Hospital of complications from cancer. He was born on October 30, 1952 in Owensboro, KY to William J. Thompson and Rose Mary (Dockmeyer) Thompson. He graduated from Owensboro Catholic High School and received his Bachelor’s degree from Strayer University in Virginia. He was a member of the US Army, and retired as a civilian employee of the US Navy. He was a member of various softball umpire associations in Virginia and Maryland and held board positions, including President, Treasurer and Commissioner.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years Paulette ((Beaudry) Thompson, his son Patrick and his wife Mary of Berryville, VA and daughter Amanda Ellerman and her husband Michael of Mechanicsville, VA ; 3 grandsons, Zachary and Nicholas Ellerman, and Joshua Thompson; by brother Tommy of Rockport, IN; by 2 sisters, Darlene May of Utica, KY and her husband Keith, and Lynda Edwards and her husband Danny of Calhoun, KY; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by his parents, his brothers Chris, Franky and David Wayne, and by his granddaughter Addison Thompson and great nephew Colton Burden.
