Betty Lorraine McCormick

Born May 27, 1935, in Harrisonburg, Virginia, she was the daughter of John and Sarah Kennedy. Throughout her long and meaningful life, Betty was known for her kindness, strength, and dedication to her family.

She married Milton Robert “Pete” McCormick, Jr., in Gainesville, VA, on June 13, 1954. For 71 years, their marriage was defined by love and commitment. Betty’s happiest moments were spent caring for her beloved family as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Betty is preceded in death by her son, Milton Robert McCormick III.

She is survived by her loving husband Pete, her children, Brian McCormick of Gore, VA, Brad McCormick (Beth) of Stephens City, VA, Mark McCormick (Denise) of Aldie, VA, and Beth Noe (Thomas) of Valparaiso, IN. She was a proud grandmother to Tyler, Erin, Laura, Scotty, Drew, Matt, Jamie, Lindsey, Mark, Brett, Taylor, Maddie and a great-grandmother to Dexter, Lyle, Maggie, Tyler, Harper, Axl, Hunter, Isabelle, Rilyn, Brandt, Presley, Colton, Charlee, Clayton, Christopher, and Joseph

Betty found pleasure in gardening, cooking, and together with her sister-in-law Ethel Kennedy, was a connoisseur of community treasures – always relishing the adventure of discovering unique finds at local yard and estate sales.

Betty will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her. May she rest in peace, joyfully reunited with her loved ones and eternally embraced by the Lord's presence.

A private funeral will be held at National Memorial Park on March 8th in Falls Church, VA.
