Obituary of Carol V. Rozansky
Carol Rozansky, 74, of Chicago, IL, passed away on 6/11/2024 in Chicago, IL. Carol was born in Silver Spring, MD to Billy and Florence Rozansky on 11/4/1949. She went to high school at Walt Whitman, class of ‘67. She received her BA in Biological Sciences from University of California at Santa Barbara in 1974, her MA in Education from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo in 1976 and her PhD in Literacy Education from University of Arizona in 1984. Carol was an educator for most of her life. She started her career teaching middle and high school. The last 30 years of her career she spent as a professor of education, teaching teachers. She retired as the Chair of Early Childhood Education Program at Columbia College Chicago in 2018. She was actively involved in numerous education groups and councils throughout her career including being one of the founding members of Pedagogy and Theatre of the Oppressed. Carol is preceded in death by her sister Debbie Rozansky and her father Billy Rozansky. Carol is survived by her son Tim Lloyd and daughter-in-law Emily Lloyd. Her daughter Meagan Lloyd and son-in-law Isaac Martis. Her grandchildren Onya Lloyd (10), Early Lloyd (4) and Zev Martis (2). Her brother Brad Rozansky, her mother Florence Rozansky and her loving partner Michael Newman. Donations in Carol’s name may be given to Planned Parenthood. Funeral services and proceeding burial will be held at 10am, June 16, 2024 at King David Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by National Funeral Home.
