

Catherine E. Keller, age 92, of Vienna, Virginia, peacefully passed away in her sleep July 11, 2022. We celebrate a life well lived, always with humor, laughter, kindness and compassion. We honor her for teaching us how to traverse life’s challenges with strength and perseverance. We are grateful that she shared the gift of laughter as a way to cope and walk through the world. She chose to be happy. Thank you Mom. We toast you with a raised glass of white wine on the rocks and a scoop of butter pecan ice cream!
She was born February 1, 1930 in Elizabeth, NJ the daughter of Catherine (Gillich) and Rudolph Ziegler. She graduated from Sacred Heart High School and worked at St Elizabeth’s Hospital for over 20 years. She married John F Keller on September 8, 1962. They met in Pt. Pleasant Beach and it was a case of opposites attract. She the extrovert, he the introvert. She enjoyed his cooking, he enjoyed her sense of humor and they shared their love of family. Raised in NJ, she lived in King of Prussia, PA and Toms River, NJ before moving to Northern Virginia to be closer to her daughters in 2004.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband John F. Keller. She is survived by her daughters Mary Ann Keller, Kathy Keller (Tom Behe) and Patricia Gallardo (Chris Gallardo) and her grandchildren Maya Blurton; Lauren & Ryan Behe; and Jack, Ben & Ava Gallardo and her family of cousins, in-laws, nieces and nephews and many friends. At Catherine’s request, she will be cremated and laid to rest with her husband John F. Keller in Toms River, NJ. A private Catholic service and internment will be held at a future date.
