Mr. Chay was a mentor and role model to me. He led by example and showed me how to develop and build professional relationships. I was very proud to have worked for him and blessed to have known him. My condolences go out to Mrs. Chay, his family, and his friends. 

My fondest memories were when he would ask me to lunch and take me away from the crazy busy days at Arlington Washington Golf Center, if only for an hour. I got to enjoy his company and soak in his wisdom. Those hours were very special to me and integral  to my success moving forward in the Golf Industry. He was a tremendous listener and observer.  Some would say a man of few words; but, when he spoke, people listened. I could not have been luckier to work for and help contribute to the legacy of  the company he built;                                  The Washington Golf Centers. 

I will never forget him.

It was a distinct pleasure to work with and for Mr. Chay.  I speak for many of my former colleagues when I say we all learned so much from him; from successful business practices to valuable life lessons.  "The biggest room in the house is the room for improvement," he used to say and we believed him and worked hard to earn his trust and respect.  We had it in spades for him.  He so positively touched the lives of so many, making us better individuals and always making us smile.  With respectful sympathies to Mrs. Chay and the entire Chay family...  All good thoughts and prayers are with you as we remember this very special gentleman.

My sympathies go out to the Chay family for their loss. Mr. Chay had the respect of anyone he had ever met. I was very fortunate to have had the opportunity to work for him, and always appreciated the fact that he trusted me  enough to manage one of his stores. My thoughts and prayers go out to all who have been blessed to have known him.

I was sad to hear about Charlie's passing.  I remember how he was a perfect gentleman.  I appreciated him being such a great role model for me when I worked with Hi-Tech Golf. I am sorry for your loss. He will be missed, but he is in heaven!

Charlie Chay was the perfect example of dignity and graciousness. He was unwavering in his kindness to one and all, regardless of their station in life. He was a true gentleman and all are better for having known him.
