

Christopher was born on September 29, 1973 in Alexandria, Virginia to William F. Dunbar and Margaret M. Jenkins. He grew up in Northern Virginia, attending Fairfax High School and graduating in 1991. He was a longtime resident of Maryland, moving there in his adulthood. He was employed at the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders as a Financial Officer.
Christopher is survived by his parents, William Dunbar and Margaret Jenkins and her husband, Lynn; his brothers, Eric Dunbar and his wife, Stephanie, and Matthew Jenkins; his aunts, Juanita Rew, Theresa Wagenbrenner, Bridget Gilmore, JoAnn Gassaway, Michelle Dunbar and Mable Grotto; his uncle, James Dunbar; his cousins, Lisa Dunbar, Brian Dunbar Sr., Daniel Dunbar, Philippe Fregeolle, Brittany Dunbar, Emily Gilmore, Sarah Dunbar, Jasmine Turner, Brian Dunbar Jr., Jah Dunbar and Elijah Dunbar; his special friends Donna and Brione Queen, Christine diSilvestre, Tasha Wells, Vicki Zumstein, Jimmy Gassaway and Gladys and Sylvester Brown; and his beloved dog Eve. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Bertha and Melvin Dunbar Sr., Wilhemina and Earl P Grotto; his aunts, Rita Collins, Geraldine Grotto and Mary Dunbar; his uncles, Michael Grotto and Melvin Dunbar; and his cousin, Steven Dunbar.
Christopher enjoyed life most when he was able to spend quality time with family and friends. He was an avid Redskins fan and loved to spend time outdoors in local parks. Christopher was passionate in raising money and awareness for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and their annual "Light the Night" Walk. He was a wonderful son, brother, family member and friend to many. He will be remembered for his fighting spirit, kind heart and passion to live his life to the fullest.
The public viewing is scheduled for Thursday September 17, 2015 from 11:00am to 1:00pm at National Memorial Funeral Home and Cemetary; 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, VA 22042. A funeral and graveside burial is scheduled to follow starting at 1:00pm. A reception will be held inside the funeral home directly after the burial. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Christopher's life.
