Danielle Renee Menard Mazurowski lived a life full of love, laughter, and music. Born in Fall River, Massachusetts, she grew up surrounded by the warmth of her large, close-knit French Catholic family. From an early age, she found her voice through music, becoming a talented flautist and graduating from B.M.C. Durfee High School before earning a bachelor’s degree in music from Rhode Island College.
Her passion for music became her life’s work as an elementary music teacher, inspiring young minds in Rhode Island, Maryland, and—most dear to her heart—Northern Virginia. For 13 joyful years, she filled the halls of Churchill Road Elementary School in McLean, Virginia, with melodies, enthusiasm, and an unwavering belief in the power of music to transform lives.
Danielle married the love of her life, James Mazurowski, on July 7, 2012—which ended up being the hottest day of the year! Together, they built a life rich in adventure, shared laughter, and deep devotion.
She is preceded in death by her beloved brother, Geoffrey Menard, and leaves behind a family who adored her: her husband, James; her father, Richard (Karla) Menard; her brother, Justin Menard; and a constellation of aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family who will forever cherish her memory.
Danielle’s spirit lives on in the music she shared, the lives she touched, and the love that will continue to echo into the hearts of all who knew her.
