Duane was born on November 17, 1958, to Joan and Werner Berlin, in Norwalk, Connecticut. He married the love of his life, Stacey, in June of 1994. In the home they built together, he could be found playing guitar, quoting movies, or debating politics with their two daughters.
When he wasn’t captaining the family boat 'The Berlin Flyer’ or enjoying a meal with friends, Duane was a well-respected practicing attorney. His unending drive and quick wit were obvious to all who knew him. Duane studied philosophy and politics at Brandeis University (Class of 1980) and attended the University of Miami School of Law (Class of 1983).
He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched. Duane was a devoted husband, beloved father, steadfast friend, and generous to all. He is survived by his wife Stacey and daughters Carley and Taylor.
A graveside funeral will be held at King David Memorial Park (2712 Hollywood Rd, Falls Church, Virginia, 22043) on Wednesday, March 20 at 1 PM with a gathering immediately after at the West Market Community Clubhouse (1901 Logan Manor Drive Reston, VA 20190). In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The World Jewish Congress or a charity of your choice.
Duane will be remembered for his intellect, generosity, and sense of humor. May his memory be a blessing.
