This is such sad news. Your mom was one special lady! From my days at Overlee to the recent times chatting with my husband, son and me in our store, she will be missed.  Even our employees have been asking about Ms Betty.

Mrs.Hawthorne was truly special..Her love of animals,particularly,ones needing a home or care was inspiring. Her home was a haven for them as well as for her beloved little dog.
    She loved children too and taught preschoolers in Sunday School for  nearly thirty years. Often when we were out, an adult would come to  happily tell her,"You were my Sunday School teacher when I was three!"
 So many lovely memories.

A wonderful lady and teacher whose words of wisdom in raising children, and her love of all of God's creatures, resonate with many of us today.  She lived her faith and our family expresses our love and condolences to her family.  There will never be another like her.
