

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Helen Marie Cascio, a devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished Yaya, who passed away peacefully on May 13, 2025. She was born on December 25, 1954 in Jersey City, New Jersey. Helen was preceded in death by her parents Dorothy and Robert, her sister Betsy and her beloved husband Joe, to whom she was married for 31 wonderful years.
Helen leaves many to cherish her memory including her brother Robert Barry (Nannette); her children, Elizabeth Hall (Matthew) and Joseph Cascio (Patricia); and her adoring grandchildren, Caitlyn, Emily, Sean, Ryan and Nicholas.
Helen, a National Junior Honor Society Member, graduated from St. Francis School of Nursing to become a registered nurse for almost 50 years. She was also a kindergarten teacher assistant for seven years. She lived a life filled with love, laughter, and an unwavering dedication to making memories. Helen had an extraordinary gift for nurturing deep, lasting relationships with those around her. Forever she will be remembered for her sense of humor, infectious laugh and willingness to always help others.
With a heart full of love, Helen was a constant presence to her family, never missing a milestone no matter how big or small. She found joy in going to Long Beach Island, traveling the world with her amazing friends and family and spending time with her grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held in her honor at St. Mark Catholic Church in Vienna, VA at 11am on May 22, 2025. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Brant Beach, New Jersey in Helen’s memory.”
