Helen Gorham Ugarte

Helen was born in Alexandria, VA on October 13, 1931 to Ida C. Gorham and James W. Gorham. She grew up and went to school in Alexandria, VA. She married Juan Ugarte on April 17, 1971 in Fairfax, VA.

She worked as a secretary for Atlantic Research for 30 years. Before working at ARC, she worked as a secretary for Capital Airlines.

Helen enjoyed going on cruises with her beloved husband, John. She also enjoyed gardening, growing orchids, reading mysteries, and crocheting.

Helen is preceded in death by her loving husband Juan (John) Ugarte; first husband Robert Breeden; parents, Ida and James Gorham; three brothers, James, Thomas and Robert Calvin; three sisters, Esther Gorham White, Ada Gorham, and Catherine Lindall: and daughter, Joyce White Foster.

Helen is survived by her two daughters Barbara Breeden Moran (Mike) and Juanita Ugarte Olson, and two sons, Juan Ugarte Jr. (Tammy), and Roy Ugarte (Diana).

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 17, 2025 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at National Funeral Home, 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, VA 22042.
