Henry John Carter

Born on October 6, 1929 in Cherrydale, VA. Son of the late John and Julia Carter passed on January 23, 2013 in Fauquier County after a long battle with lung disease. Husband of the late Catherine Lorraine Carter the love of his life; devoted father of Gary (Sandy) Carter, Cathy (Mike) Quigley and Janie Carter; grandfather of Marcus, Jennifer, Corey (Megan), Bridget, Lindsay and Megan; great-grandfather of Caitlin; brother of William Carter and the late Gene and Goldie. He was retired from Asbestos Local 24 and Fairfax County Schools and a longtime volunteer at Fauquier Hospital and a 50 year member of Kemper Masonic Lodge Falls Church, VA. Friends may call at the MURPHY FALLS CHURCH FUNERAL HOME, 1102 West Broad St., (Rt. 7) where the family will be present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and where Masonic services will be held at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 29 at 1 p.m. at St. Luke's United Methodist Church, 7628 Leesburg Pike, Falls Church, VA.
