Born in Washington, D.C., and raised in Falls Church and Toms Brook, Jeny was a woman of boundless warmth, kindness, and generosity. She devoted her life to her family, her community, and to forming meaningful, lasting connections with everyone she met. Known for her loving heart and vibrant spirit, she brought joy and light to the lives of all who knew her.
Jeny carried cherished memories of her childhood spent on the family farm in Culpeper. She especially loved camping trips to Maine and summers in Ocean City, Maryland. Her infectious sense of humor, boundless compassion, and playful nature made her truly unforgettable - she was always ready with a joke and, as many fondly recall, a hot dog or treat for any dog who crossed her path.
Jeny's deep commitment to her community was evident throughout her life. She served as a Girl Scout leader, was an active PTA member, and volunteered on various school committees, always stepping up to support children's education and well-being. A passionate fan from the sidelines, she was an avid supporter of every sport her children and grandchildren participated in, never missing a game, meet, or match - cheering them on with unwavering pride and love.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 51 years, William Guy; her children, Kathryn, Cynthia (and husband Jeffery), and James (and wife Nicole); and her adored grandchildren, Sebastian, Nixx, and Julian. She is also lovingly remembered by her sister, June Trueax; her brother, Chip Ladd; and many extended family members and close friends who meant the world to her.
A viewing will be held on Friday, August 8th, from 4-8 PM, and a funeral service on Saturday, August 9th, at 11:00 AM, both at National Funeral Home in Falls Church, Virginia. Following the internment, there will be a reception at Mclean Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Share Foundation at McLean Baptist Church, a cause close to Jeny's heart.
Jeny's radiant love and enduring compassion touched everyone she met. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
