Julius L. Meszaros Jr.

Julius L. Meszaros, Jr. was born on April 1, 1940 and died on May 11, 2010. He was diagnosed with Type II Diabetes in the 1980s and worked hard to manage this disease, which caused vision loss in the last two years and was directly related to his death. He was a good man and we will miss him so much.

Julius, or Jules, as he was known by his friends and family, married his wife Antoinette on August 5, 1960 and planned to celebrate their 50 years of marriage in July 2010 with his family on a cruise to Bermuda. He loved his wife dearly and they had a strong and devoted marriage. Jules also had two children, Maria, married to Jeff Hylton, and Michael Meszaros, married to Susan. He was always involved in the lives of his children and four grandchildren, Justin and Sarah Hylton and Megan and Amanda Meszaros.

Jules came to the Washington, DC area in 1958, right after graduating from high school to work for the FBI. He had a long and stable career of 37 years with the bureau, retiring in 1995. Jules also worked part-time for Safeway for over 32 years.

After his retirement he became involved in the community through neighborhood watch and tutoring children at the local elementary school. He also became an active volunteer at their church. Jules and Antoinette also worked the polls every year and held many Night Out parties in August over the years.

Jules loved grilling out, and he made a fantastic grilled turkey at Thanksgiving, even after his vision became impaired. He also loved working in his yard, and his grass was like a cushion. Holiday decorations were detailed and beautiful, with special displays at Christmas, Easter, and Halloween.

Jules also attended, with his wife, every grade school program, school Thanksgiving lunch, piano recital, play, sporting event, graduation (even from preschool), and event that his children or grandchildren were involved in. He was so proud of his grandchildren and looked forward to their high school and college graduations.

Jules was born in Trenton, New Jersey on April 1, 1940. His parents, Julius L. and Elizabeth Meszaros, Sr. lived in Pennsylvania and raised their three children, Jules, Ann, and Marie. His parents and sister Ann are deceased, and his sister Marie lives with her husband in Pennsylvania.
