Kevin Davitt Rooney

Kevin D. Rooney passed away peacefully on June 16, 2013. Beloved husband of Annette, his wife of over 40 years; he is survived by his daughters, Katie Sheehey (Rich) and Mary Anderson (Tony); grandchildren Alex and Zack Sheehey, and Morgan Anderson; brothers James and Thomas Rooney; and many nieces and nephews. Kevin was born on June 23, 1944, in Palmer, MA, and received his B.A. from St Mary’s Seminary & University in Baltimore, MD, and his J.D. from George Washington University Law School in Washington, D.C. Kevin had a long and storied career with the federal government. He will be deeply missed by his family and many friends. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 19, 2013, from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Murphy Funeral Home, 1102 W. Broad Street, Falls Church, VA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, June 20, at 10:30 a.m. at St John the Beloved Catholic Church, 6420 Linway Terrace, McLean, VA. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Jimmy Fund, Dana Farber Cancer Institute, or the charity of your choice. Interment in Fairfax Memorial Park Cemetery, Fairfax, VA.
