Born on June 22, 1942, in Manhattan, Lorraine spent most of her life in New York before moving to Virginia in 1997, following the loss of her beloved husband, Robert Hammer. She made the move to be closer to her daughter, Catherine, who could support her as she began a new chapter of life. Though she built a home in Virginia, she carried her New York roots proudly - spirited, sharp-witted, loving, and full of life. That unmistakable mix of warmth and boldness shaped the way she lived, laughed, and connected with others.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, whom she loved deeply and missed every day. Their marriage was built on laughter, devotion, and an unbreakable bond that endured through time.
She is survived by her loving children, Catherine Hammer and fiancé, Peter Ozdzynski, and Nicholas Hammer and daughter-in-law, Jamie, along with her two cherished grandchildren, Brayden and Avery, who brought her endless pride and joy. Her face lit up whenever she spoke of them - they were truly the center of her heart.
Lorraine will be remembered for her strength, compassion, and fierce love - a vibrant woman whose humor, honesty, and unmistakable spark touched everyone she met.
