I will always remember our happy days together in December, 1959, in your home.  I admired your ideas and curiosity, and I so enjoyed your company.  Please accept my deepest sympathy at the loss of your dear Mother.

Letter from Dana in December, 1959, to my brother Bill Lenoir, who was playing tennis in the Orange Bowl International Junior Championships in Miami.  He greatly appreciated it and saved it all these years.  So thoughtful of her.  All of you cared so much about the world!

We are Louise’s next door neighbors at Watergate. While we are not their often, seeing Louise was always a highlight of our time at Watergate West. We will miss our dear friend and neighbor so much, so we can only imagine your loss. My favorite Louise story is from the day we moved in.  I believe her husband had passed only a day or so before. Louise appeared at our door with a plate of wonderful apples. She then apologized for not having more to welcome us. We fell in love right then with her kind heart and caring spirit. May God bless and comfort you in your loss.

Louise was one of my mother's closest friends and one of my favorites of her friends. She was always full of passion and ideas and determination. I loved that she boycotted Amazon and got my mother to do so as well.  She accomplished so much over the course of her very-well lived life. Every time I spoke with her I learned something new, not just about the world but about her in the world. Her mind and her eye were  critical and discerning.  Her homes were beautiful and her laugh raucous.  I'd be remiss if I didn't add how talented she was as an artist as well. Her paintings were really charming.   My mother had one of a beach scene that I always loved, not knowing for years that Louise had painted it.  Like Louise, the painting was elegant in its simplicity and directness.  She had a brilliant mind and she spoke it.  She spoke often of her children and grandchildren, whom she adored. She will be missed.  May her memory be a blessing.  With love, Wendy Rogovin
